Applications are being accepted through Tuesday (3/15/22) for those who would like to join the Local Laboratory of Learning (L3) in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to design a better local accountability approach for our students. Accountability is how we determine how well schools and students are performing on learning. Currently, in schools across Kentucky, tests weigh most heavily in our accountability system. As part of this L3, we will work together to provide input and gather information on what accountability for our Lawrence County students needs to include, based on our needs as a community.
Members selected for the L3 committee must be able to:
- work side by side with families, learners, and community members
- rethink and redesign how we will assess students and build shared accountability to support students
- share our committee work/learning with state groups, the KY Dept. of Ed, and the commissioner of education
- meet every 2 weeks from mid-March through May, and then periodically throughout the summer.
If you are interested in applying for selection to this committee, please complete the following survey by Tuesday (3/15/22). Thank you for your interest in Lawrence County Schools and our students.
